Industrial Cybersecurity
At SICA we actively work on Industry Cybersecurity 4.0, to guarantee the security of our clients and their infrastructures by implementing SCADA Security, ICS Security (Industrial Control System Security) measures in all our projects.
-
National Network of Industrial Laboratories (RNLI)
In this commitment, SICA is part of the National Network of Industrial Laboratories (RNLI), an initiative led by the National Institute of Cybersecurity (INCIBE), supported by the National Center for the Protection of Critical Infrastructure (CNPIC), and is part of the services provided to operators through the CERTSI_ (CERT for Security and Industry).
-
ISO/IEC 27001
We have the ISO/IEC 27001 Certificate, Information Security Management, which certifies our compliance with the requirements to establish, implement, monitor and improve an Information Security System (ISMS).
-
Model INCIBE railway infrastructure
In our contribution to the improvement of the analysis and supervision of cybersecurity in Spain, we have developed for INCIBE the first railway transport model to evaluate the cybersecurity of these critical infrastructures.
-
INCIBE ESCILA / ICS-ARSENAL Projects
We have also actively participated in INCIBE's projects, ESCILA, a pilot Plan for Evaluation Services of Industrial Control and Automation Systems, and the ICS-Arsenal Project, in which INCIBE takes a further step in its mission to evaluate and raise the level of cyber-resilience of Industrial Control Systems.
-
Industrial Cybersecurity Seminar SEL
In October 2018, we promoted and organized the SEL Industrial Cybersecurity Seminar at the Escuela Técnica y Superior de Minas y Energía of the Universidad de León, in the presence of the president and founder of SCHWEITZER ENGINEERING LABORATORIES (SEL), Dr. Edmund Schweitzer III.
-
Technology Partners / Cybersecurity Industry 4.0
With our different technological partners SEL, Siemens, Beckhoff,... we work daily on the analysis of vulnerabilities that may represent a cyber security breach in critical infrastructures, mainly railway and industrial.
-
Critical Infrastructure Projects INCIBE - Energy and Railway Sector
We are currently involved in projects with INCIBE and the Energy Sector to analyze the security of communication protocols in the process of reading consumption and with the Railway Sector in the analysis of security in user information systems.
Energy Management in Buildings
Today, society is undergoing a period of great progress at world level, which is mainly characterised by the digitization of multiple sectors. During this century, many technological and electronic advances have appeared and developed for different functions and objectives.
With such impressive advances, architecture cannot be excluded and these developments have already been adopted for buildings in order to achieve greater process efficiency. And this trend is likely to become even stronger in the future.
The aim is to integrate new technologies into the architectural space, achieving greater functionality, increased information with greater reliability of communications, control and technical assistance that reduces energy consumption and maintenance costs. For this purpose, it is always based on two basic principles: to respect and protect the environment.
The intelligent system allows you to activate and deactivate alarms, control the air conditioning, activate and deactivate electrical outlets, detect the presence and absence of activity to keep the lights on or off, it can, in short, fulfil a specific task according to the needs of each individual.
Faced with this imminent advance, SICA wanted to be a protagonist in the modernization of this sector, including in its activities the creation of different and modern programs that control the aforementioned, adapting each control system to the precise and personal requirements of each client. And thus contribute in the area of Home Automation, energy efficiency and consumption monitoring.
The key tasks carried out in this area are the management of the following systems:
- Lighting
- Security
- Heating, Air Conditioning and Ventilation
- Anti-fires
- Energy measurement
- CCTV

Energy Sector
In recent decades, new technologies and equipment for measuring and protecting electrical installations have been introduced. Increasingly sophisticated network analyzers and electronic protections with powerful data capture, waveform recording, event generation,...
SICA specializes in reading and integrating the data generated by these teams and in providing tools for analysis and decision making from them, regardless of the model or manufacturer of the equipment.
Parallel to the liberalization of the electricity sector through Law 54/1997 and at European level with Directive 96/92/CE on Common Standards for the Internal Electricity Market, the panorama of electricity contracting has changed, putting the consumer in an advantageous position with reliable data on their consumption profile and volume.
Faced with this situation, from the point of view of industry, the need to incorporate new technologies has become increasingly important. They must provide operators with the necessary tools to help maintain their installation in an optimal state of operation and energy efficiency, as well as access to electricity supply contracting in the liberalised market under the best possible conditions.
The main services provided by SICA to the industrial electricity sector are
- Integration of network analyzers and electronic protections
- Measurement and analysis of consumption and electrical parameters
- Energy quality control
- Study and programming of current protections
- Development of Electric Scadas
- Telemetry of electric meters
