The Remote URC is a tool for monitoring and storing data from network analysers and protection relays. This application is based on a system composed of a high-performance industrial computer, running under a Windows XP Embedded operating system.
This system is totally independent and unattended, and can be accessed via TCP-IP communication, switched telephone line or serial port. This allows it to operate 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, without requiring any maintenance by the user.
The Gateway or universal communications gateway developed by SICA S.A. allows the exchange of information between the field devices and the remote control.
The communications gateway converts the status information, alarms and measurements collected from the installation and packages all the information to be sent by IEC-104/101 protocol. In this way, the remote control receives the status changes and alarms in real time.
The SICA gateway has been tested in numerous installations, demonstrating excellent reliability and robustness. Optionally it can be enabled in redundant configuration, with two gateways operating simultaneously, thus providing hardware fault tolerance.
The feeder system is responsible for the management of the opening signal of an overspeed in a substation to allow the transmission and subsequent opening of the corresponding feeder overspeed in other collateral substations, which could supply the same traction sector, and all this in the shortest possible time.
